Functions
Single Cylinder Keyed Entry: A single cylinder handleset features a keyed lock on the exterior and a thumbturn on the interior to unlock the door. The exterior typically includes a thumb plate, while the interior is equipped with either a lever or knob. Single cylinder locks are most commonly used for securing residential or commercial entry doors.
Double Cylinder Keyed Entry: A double cylinder lock is keyed on both sides, requiring a key to lock or unlock the door from inside and outside. It offers enhanced security, making it more resistant to unauthorized entry, and is often used on doors near glass to prevent tampering if the glass is broken. Double cylinder locks are ideal for high-risk areas, providing added protection and key consistency.

Door Handing: Certain lock types require correct handing, including:

Rules to Follow:
The outside of an exterior door is the street or entrance side.
The outside of a room door is the hall side.
For a single communicating door, the outside is the side where the hinges are not visible when the door is closed.
The outside of a closet door is the room or hall side.

Right Handed: Hinges on the right; door swings in.
Left Handed: Hinges on the left; door swings in.
Right Hand Reverse Bevel: Hinges on the right; door swings out.
